We recognize that traveling to a new place can feel intimidating, especially when it involves unfamiliar surroundings and responsibilities. Drawing on our years of experience, we have carefully developed and implemented a comprehensive range of safety measures designed to protect both our volunteers and the children they serve. These measures are continually reviewed and enhanced to provide a secure environment, allowing our volunteers to focus on their important work with confidence and peace of mind.
During their time of service, our volunteers live in dedicated housing facilities located in Quito and Cuenca. These residences are designed specifically with our volunteers’ comfort and safety in mind, offering a welcoming home base throughout their stay.
Both facilities are situated in secure, well-regarded neighborhoods and feature gated entrances, high perimeter walls, and electric fencing for added protection. Inside, the housing offers ample indoor and outdoor space, giving volunteers room to relax, unwind, and stay active—without needing to leave the premises.

We know that getting around a new city—especially in a different country—can feel a little daunting. That’s why we’ve arranged safe, reliable transportation for all our volunteers. Our trusted drivers will take you where you need to go, so you can feel at ease and stay focused on what matters most: serving the children at the orphanages.
We’ve thoughtfully designed and maintained a comprehensive set of safety measures to support and protect our volunteers throughout their experience. From transportation and lodging to daily activities, every aspect is carefully planned to create a secure and welcoming environment.
That said, safety is a shared responsibility. We expect all volunteers to stay attentive, make informed decisions, and follow the safety guidelines and instructions provided. By doing so, each volunteer helps maintain a safe and respectful environment—not only for themselves but for everyone involved.
While we are committed to doing our part, each volunteer plays a vital role in their own safety and well-being.
